Yes A&D ointment is best, just a thin layer so you do lose too much ink.

Be sure to wash your hands before touching your new tattoo. Use clear, unscented, anti-bacterial soap to wash your tat 2-4 times a day. After washing apply a thin layer of a&d ointment. Do this for the first 3-4 days. Then apply an unscented moisturizing lotion as often as need. Make sure you don't peel the scabs or you WILL pull out the ink.

Don't wash it with anti bacterial soap. Put solar oil on it, it's a little bottle that's for nails. It works on your tattoo though, mine didn't scab at all because of it. Seriously, i recommend it big time!!!
